We have appended a new rule to the Phantom EFX Rules of Conduct to ensure the safety of all online casino subscribers. Thank you Josh

Your Member Account, Password and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account. You agree to (a) immediately notify Phantom EFX of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security, and (b) ensure that you exit from your account at the end of each session. Phantom EFX cannot, and will not, be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these rules.

If you are caught accessing another member's account in any form, it will result in a lifetime ban from our games.  If you are caught knowingly assisting another person in the access of another members account, it will result in a lifetime ban from our games.

Phantom EFX has one instance in which we require your password, and that is during the log in process.

Please do not give your password out to anyone, including those who may identify themselves as staff members.  It is recommended that you periodically change your password for the safety and security of your account information.

FYI . . .

The Phantom EFX message boards are NOT the place to discuss things of a personal matter that happen in the Online Casino. If you are having issue or a conflict with another player, pittboss, Linda, Shrum or myself we would ask you to do this via email. By putting it on the message board all we are doing is displaying a negative impression of a great game. We CANNOT continue to allow this. Any post or topic that does cover a incident on the Casino will be removed immediately. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

Secondly we (Phantom EFX) will be doing a better job of keeping our message boards free from negative, sarcastic and just plain rude post. So any post that is directly attacking or threatening another person, Phantom EFX Employee or the Online Casino will be deleted.

Lastly, these message boards are administrated by three people Shurm (Owner), Danny (Owner) and myself (Josh). If any topic or post is deleted it is delete by one of us. NO ONE ELSE HAS THE ABILITY TO DELETE POST.

In summary please expect to see a little tighter message board. Does this mean that we want you to stop having your random conversations about anything and everything. No we actually encourage it. We just ask that you be positive, help us make our games better and continue to make great friends. As the old saying goes "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all".

Tournament Refund Policy

At Phantom EFX we are aware that there are times when a player will lose connection during, or before a tournament that they entered, has begun.

However, to be fair to everyone, including those who successfully complete a tournament, we must have standard policies for issuing refunds for entry fees.

During those rare times that our server may crash, we will cancel any regular slot tournament in progress, which will automaticly refund everyone's entry fee.

For the tournaments that are Phantom EFX sponsored (not guild) and are hourly tourneys, we will refund anyone in the process of playing the tournament when we crash.  Hourly tournaments will not be cancelled because of the number of players already having completed it.

We will not refund individual requests for entry fees by a player who:

-Lost connection before,
-Lost connection during,
-Missed the timer to Go Now,
-Did not get the Go Now,

We have no way of determining why you lost connection, if you accidentally forfeited, if you were out of the room and missed the pop up, or simply were losing and decided to quit.

Poker tournaments and table game tournaments will not be cancelled at all.  When booted or we crash, you have 10 minutes to return to a poker tournament, and your hand continues to be played in table tourneys, allowing you to log back in and continue.

We hope that having a standard policy of handling these issues, will make it fairer for everyone who plays.  Extreme circumstances will be handled on an individual basis.

Guild Tournaments

A standard guild vs guild slot tournament will be cancelled if it is in progress when we crash.
Intra-guild slot tourneys will also be cancelled if in progress when we crash, and ONLY if requested.
Hourly guild tournaments will not be cancelled during a crash, and individual players will not be refunded for their entry fees if they are in the process of playing one when we crash, or if they lose connection.

Requests by guild leaders to cancel a tournament which has not begun yet must be approved by an officer from both guilds.
Hourly Guild tournaments will not be cancelled if players have already played in it.

Phantom EFX Online Rules of Conduct

As with all things, Phantom EFX is governed by certain rules of conduct that must be adhered to by all users of our online games. It is your responsibility to know, understand and abide by these rules of conduct.

The following rules are not meant to be "exhaustive," and Phantom EFX reserves the right to determine what conduct it considers to be outside the spirit of the game and to take such disciplinary measures as it sees fit.

Rules Related to User Names/Icons

When you choose a screen name, or otherwise create a profile that can be seen by other players, you must abide by the rules of common decency. If Phantom EFX, in its sole discretion, finds such a screen name, Icon/Avatar or profile to be offensive, it reserves the right to change the name, remove the profile, and/or suspend your use of our online services. In particular, you may not use:

-Names of another person with the intent to impersonate that person; -Names which incorporate 'swear' words or which are otherwise offensive, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable; -Names subject to the rights of any other person without authorization; -Names of popular culture or media personalities; -Names that are trademarks, or registered trademarks (e.g., Ferrari, Zenith, Pepsi, Charmin); -Names of religious individuals; (e.g., Buddha, Jesus, Allah, Jehovah, Lucifer); -Names related to drugs, narcotics, or criminal activity, including references to drug substances (e.g., Heroin, Cocaine, Cannabis).

-Icons which are deemed inappropriate for public viewing, including those which contain any form of the above names or pictures, pornographic images, nudity, sexual references, drug substances, religious, racial, cultural or political references.

Additionally, you may not purposely use a misspelling or an alternative spelling to circumvent the name restrictions listed above, nor can you have a "first" and "last" name that, when combined, violate the above name restrictions.

Using a word in a sentence in caps to emphasize a point is acceptable. Typing entire conversations in all caps creates difficulty for others to read chat, and is generally considered rude in internet chat. Therefore it is not allowed in public lobbies.

-Begging or Soliciting for Loans: The nature of our online games revolves around cyber-money. Because of this and because we value the privacy of our subscribers, we do not allow players to ask for loans, and the loaning of money.

Your Member Account, Password and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account. Please do not give your password out to anyone, including those who may identify themselves as staff members. It is recommended that you periodically change your password for the safety and security of your account information.

Warnings

When you are in violation of any of the above rules, a warning will be placed on your account, and you will be notified by email (if your email account is available). Depending on the nature of the violation, a warning may remain for up to three months. If you receive three warnings on your account, it will result in an automatic ban for a period of time to be determined by the Staff.

Always use your best judgment and common decency in online conduct. If you would not say something in a room full of people you have never met, or in the workplace, then don't say it in our lobbies or on our forums.

If a staff member makes a request regarding your online chat or user name, it is recommended that you respect that request to avoid any actions being taken or possible suspension of your chat privileges or account.

Phantom EFX reserves the right to take whatever action deemed necessary to enforce the above Rules of Conduct.

In Darkest of Days, the action begins with the player being ripped from his period in time by a mysterious organization moments before his grisly death.  In order to ensure the future of mankind, he is then tasked with the mission to travel back and forth through time  to famous, turning-point battle campaigns in world history  acting as the organizations agent in a larger, seemingly otherworldly, battle between good and evil.  Using a combination of both futuristic and historical weapons, players will be immersed in a world where in one instant they will be fighting against the Huns in World War I and the next find themselves battling at Antietam in the U.S. Civil War.  A variety of combat missions, such as stealth, artillery assaults, and sniper attacks will keep players on their toes through dozens of levels spread out over five historical time periods  all while discovering the secrets of the mysterious organization for which they have been working.  Fighting on one side of the action, then sometimes coming back to fix mistakes on the opposing side gives the player a chance to experience conflicts from both sides. All of us at Phantom EFX and 8Monkey are dedicated to making an immersive, exciting and completely well-rounded title for our first venture into the hardcore gaming arena, said Aaron Schurman, CEO, Phantom EFX.  Were confident that Darkest of Days is going to exceed our expectations and absolutely blow away any fans of first-person shooters  especially those craving a deep and engrossing story to drive the action.

Rankings - NEW INFO

Hey there folks!

Due to some fantastic insight by players over the last few weeks, we have some new news for how Rankings will be calculated in the future (we will let you know when this goes live).

1)  New players used to get ranked after their 1st hand in a game.  A player will now have to accomplish 250 hands in any game to become ranked.  We will also start to consider a few more recent hands than we used to in order to calculate rank.

2)  Rankings will no longer take into consideration your play in Quests or Trials (since your play may vary in those games, and some are designed for you to play fast, giving you less time to play certain hands accurately).  The only exception to this rule will be Quests in Tiers 1 and 2, since those are "normal play" quests.

3)  For Slot Rankings, normal play will no longer affect Rank.  Rank will be solely calculated based on Tournament play, and how you finished compared to how many folks play in the tournament.  A player from the community, Rerepete, recommended the new system we will be going with.  Here is how it works . . .

When you play a tournament, if you get first place, and there are 50 entrants, you will get 50 points.  2nd place will get 49 points, 3rd will get 48 points, and so on.  So even if you get 49th place, you will get 1 point.  If there are only 3 folks in a tournament, and you win, you will get 3 points.  In order to account for folks that have more money, and can get in more tournaments, we will divide your score by your most recent 5 tournaments.  So, when you play a 6th tournament, that first tournament you did will fall away.  It will not matter what the buy-in is, you will be ranked after your first 5 tournaments.

4)  Just a side note for pulling up your ranks - we are beginning work to have each page of the Rankings load separatedly - that way folks with weaker connections will not have such a long lag when asking to get rankings for a specific game.  If we laod by page, then there are more frequent, barely noticeable load times, rather than one large rush of information.

Hope this helps folks!

Shurm

**NOTE** This is not live yet, we are working on these changes and will annouce when they go live.

May 29th, 2007

Howdy folks!

There will be a small update this week, just adding a few remaining files you will need for June's new slot, "Dracula".

As promised, we have been working overtime on a new little bonus for you guys.  The new content we are working on is a new set of rooms called "Judgement".  Your judgements start at level 40, and will increase the strength of your new "Double Experience" ability that everyone will automatically receive at level 40.  We have all the art assets done for this new set of doors, and they are stunning.  Its in programming now, and we hope to have it done by next week or so.

Also, we wanted to address a couple of folk's questions about the new ReMasters that come out on the 15th of each month.  As many of you know, there will be a charge for the slots on the 15th.  Each slot that will be released on the 15th of each month is a total re-master of an old classic.  Its pretty much a new machine, so we have costs and have to charge.  That cost is going to be the same as any other download, $5.99.

We are going to offer a separate subscription on these, to allow for some discounts.  Before these go live, you will have a chance to add these to your subscription, getting a discount for 6 month and annual subscriptions ($5.49 a month for 6 months, or $4.99 a month for 12 months).  You will get an e-mail reminder every 15th of the month with a link to where to download it (they will all plug into your on-line play).  Again, this will be ready before the 15th, and we will let ya know when its up.

Take care!

Shurm

May 17, 2007

Good afternoon my friend!

After many requests, I have found a way to allow contests that players may generate, and disperse prize amounts without our involvement (which was starting to take too much time, so we had to ixnay it).

We have started development on a 'Guild Bank' that will show up in the Guild Lobby.  The Guild Bank can be donated to by any player in that guild, and the guild leader will have the ability to /gift that money out with several restrictions 1)  There can only be 3 /gifts a day, no more than 1 to any player, and 2) The amount of money that can be gifted to someone will be based on his/her level.  That guild bank is the only thing that can fund contests . . if there is no money in there, no many can be /gifted (so you have to have donations in order to fund event).

This way, all 3 concerns are met, those being

1)  Players want to be able to run special contests

2)  We are removed from the loop, allowing us to help folks with problems

3)  We no long have to worry about low level characters getting an unusualy large windfal of cash, hurting the game enjoyment in the long-run.

I hope to have this up and running very soon!
